Our school holds debut parties, where successful students have the opportunity to perform in one of Kyiv's venues. You'll put together your own set, perform at the party and have your set published on the school's page, or you'll just get a recorded mix at the end of the course that you can use as promotional material.

During the course, you will get to know the equipment and learn the basics of mixing on digital players. You will understand the genres of electronic music, track structure, and the principles of building a set. You will learn where to look for music, how to organise it and prepare it for a performance.
Classes are held individually with a teacher. The degree of your previous training does not matter - we start with the basics and gradually deepen your knowledge.
All the necessary equipment and additional materials are provided by the school. All you need is your desire, a laptop to search for music and install the necessary software, and a USB stick to download music.
If you already have experience in DJing or creating music, we will create an individual programme for you.
1. Connection and structure of the equipment
Introduction to equipment. Overview of the main models of digital players and mixers. Principles of wiring and connection. Explanation of the main functions of the equipment.
2. Mixing on CD Players
An introduction to the basic mixing algorithm using Pioneer XDJ-1000 players. Working with track tempo and BPM synchronization. Understanding the CUE function and learning how to set the starting point. Track structure: rhythmic grid, phrasing, strong and weak beats. Working with loops.
3. Working with a Mixer
Learning to use EQs and eliminate frequency conflicts. Practicing smooth transitions. What is gain and how it differs from master volume. Different types of mixers and their specific features. The role of effects and filters — how to use them properly.
4. Track Selection and Set Building
Exploring key online platforms for finding and downloading music. How to build a DJ set — and how it differs from a podcast. Set and podcast dynamics: how to begin, develop, and end. Introduction to Rekordbox: basic functionality and usage.
5. Graduation Party & Mix Recording
Your moment to shine and a solid proof that you're a real DJ. After completing the course, the most dedicated students are invited to perform at a graduation party held at one of Kyiv’s venues. During the event, we record their mixes — which later serve as promo material for future gigs and career development.
